Filter Pad with holes No.1 (Coarse Filtration) 2 micron 6 pads of pack size 20x20 cm
The #1 filter pads are coarse pads, used mainly for heavy wines. These pads will produce minimal clarity for your wine. They are used as a first filtration to extract the larger suspended particles.
Filter Pads are not all the same. They may be rated with specific micron sizes but they also must correspond to Flow Rate and Pressure applied to them by the pump.
The #1 Pads are Coarse Pads. They remove large particulate in a heavy wine, typically those heavy reds.
The #2 Pads are Polishing Pads and they remove medium to small particulate in your wine and add the shine to your wine.
The #3 Pads are Sterile Pads with very tight pads that remove very small particulate in your wine.
A young wine (30 days old) is not ready for FINE filtration. As per our instructions and winemaking directions, this is the racking and maturing stage for the wine.
If you wish to filter a young wine (30 days old), we recommend using #1 pads first. You may filter with the #2 pads immediately after filtering with the #1, however the wine is in an agitated state and it would be advisable to wait 2-4 days between filtrations. You may then follow with the #3 after 2-4 days.
Do Not Mix Filter Pad Types. All Filter Pads inserted into the Filter Machine MUST be of the same grade.
